From France to Malaysia, Y&S follows the World Match Racing Tour 2010 showing the first two phases on Tuesday 3 and 17 August at 9:00 p.m.
Sanctioned by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) with “Special Event” status, this competition is the leading professional sailing series featuring 10 World Championship events across the globe. Twelve crews are ready to compete for being crowned 2010 ISAF Match Racing World Champion.
Match Racing features just 2 boats in a match at one time, the first to finish wins, exactly the same as in the America’s Cup. Racing takes place close to the shore for the general public, so it is possible to follow the races as virtual on-the-water stadiums.
Sebastian Col, Ben Ainslie, Mathieu Richard, Ian Williams e Bertrand Pace are some of the greatest names who participate to this race. The first phase of this compelling competition will be in Marseille, where the consistent winds provide a perfect condition for this sport. In fact, they can blow from different directions and it allows observing an interesting racing in the Mediterranean waters. The second phase will be in Langenargen, a stunning German town with a passion for match racing.
